Our Desires

We desire a pastor who faithfully teaches God’s Word with clarity, truth, and practical application, helping people grow deeper in their faith and discipleship. He should devote significant time to prayer, diligent study of Scripture, and thoughtful sermon preparation. His teaching and leadership should reflect a close relationship with Christ and confidence in God’s direction and provision.

We seek a pastor who sees CBC as a sending church—into our community, state, nation, and world. He should make prayer a priority in his own life and in the life of the church, demonstrate a passion for sharing the gospel, and equip and encourage the congregation to live out the Great Commission. His desire to see people come to know Jesus should shape his ministry both within the church and throughout the community.

Working alongside church staff and leaders, he should develop a clear path for our church to gather, grow, and go. We desire someone who prayerfully seeks God’s direction, communicates that vision clearly, brings people together around it, and translates it into thoughtful plans and achievable goals. He should build upon CBC’s strengths and heritage while helping the congregation embrace opportunities for discipleship, outreach, missions, ministry, and the development of future leaders.

We desire a pastor with a shepherd’s heart who loves the congregation and cares deeply for the spiritual well-being of every generation. He should intentionally engage younger generations and young families while continuing to value, honor, and minister to senior members. Through regular fellowship and an approachable, welcoming presence, he should build relationships in which people feel comfortable sharing their joys, struggles, and questions. He should encourage and protect those entrusted to his care, walking alongside them with empathy through difficult seasons and times of celebration.

We seek a pastor who provides ongoing discipleship, mentoring, and spiritual oversight for church staff and members. When difficult situations arise, he should prayerfully seek God’s wisdom and exercise sound judgment with compassion. Above all, he should lead with honesty, humility, and integrity, being the same person in the pulpit, in the community, and in his home.

Compensation and Benefits

We are committed to providing our pastor with a competitive and comprehensive compensation package that reflects the responsibilities of the position, the pastor’s experience and qualifications, and the cost of living in our community. Our desire is to care well for our pastor and his family and provide the resources needed for him to serve effectively.

The compensation package will include, but is not limited to salary, housing allowance, health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement/annuity contributions, resource and materials allowance, conference and convention expenses, hospitality expenses, and travel reimbursement or allowance.
